Description: Environmental Areas Overlay (dataset 1 of 2, Environmental Areas) - Version Effective 20 June 2016Moreton Bay Regional Council Planning Scheme - www.moretonbay.qld.gov.au/mbrcplanningscheme/Scheme Amendments:Minor Scheme Amendment 1 effective 20 June 2016 - There were numerous methodology changes to what constitutes MLES in this amendment changing MLES mapping extensively, documented in minor amendments changes documentation (qA1303083). Current methodology is documented below, for methodology supporting the first version of adopted Environmental Areas mapping refer to the original OM_Enviro_Areas dataset Metadata.MSES - Matters of State Environmental SignificanceThis is composed of the combined values in State dataset Matters of State environmental significance -version4_1- Queensland found here:http://qldspatial.information.qld.gov.au/catalogue/custom/search.page?q=MSESFurther any values which no longer exist (through recent clearing & development) through ground truthing and desktop analysis have been removed. Spatial files that represent these areas are saved in following datasets (see their respective Metadata for more information):MAINT_GIN_Class1ManualRemoveMAINT_GIN_Class2ManualRemoveMinor Scheme Ammendment 1 Manual Removes by AP (See scheme amendments statement above)MLES - Matters of Local Environmental SignificanceIs now composed of the following four layers:Biodiversity planning assessments (Version 3.5)Shorebird HabitatLocal Plan Green Networks (Narangba East, Morayfield South, Joyner, where cleared areas were manually removed by AP)Covenants (Mostly from DCDB where Environmental some VCAs)Further any values which no longer exist (through recent clearing & development) through ground truthing and desktop analysis have been removed. Spatial files that represent these areas are saved in following datasets (see their respective Metadata for more information):MAINT_GIN_Class1ManualRemoveMAINT_GIN_Class2ManualRemoveMinor Scheme Ammendment 1 Manual Removes by AP (See scheme amendments statement above)MLES - WetlandsCurrently in this version only includes one wetland at 399 Donnybrook Rd, Donnybrook (3RP912058), which was added by MBRC Environmental Planning. further MLES Wetlands to be added after internal review at a later date in a later planning scheme ammendment.MSES - Koala OffsetsThis is the former Class 2b, which generally maps SPRP High and Medium Value Koala Rehab, this mapping is however based on a cleaned dataset which removes illogical mapping from recent development areas and also takes into acount manual edits where mapping was cleaned up, see references above (same manual ammendment documentation and spatial datasets).MLES Waterway Buffer(This overlaps some of the categories above)The buffer is based on the OM_Riparian_Waterways dataset. The waterway corridors in Overlay Map are centrlelines so do not take into account the distance from stream centreline to top of bank of rivers, from which the buffer is to be calculated. Some rivers and creeks have significant waterholes, which are not represented in the stream centrelines. The Trigger area aims to map the Buffered extents from the edge of the river banks and from the edge of waterholes, as opposed from the mapped stream centreline. To achieve this a series of selections was used to include mapped waterholes and river width extent using polygons from a dataset maintained by DWCP (M12_Waterbodies_Rivers_Creeks_2013) the waterbodies were included with stream centrelines in the buffers for each scenario, 20m, 40m, 100m. Some waterbodies were manually excluded, such as those large ponds near extractive industry (Ningi, Brendale, Petrie) which are not naturally part of drainage network, also canal estate polygons were excluded.Buffer widths are as follows:W1 - 100m BufferW2 - 40m BufferW3 - 20m BufferMLES - Wetland BufferThis is a 100m buffer from MLES - Wetlands, it does not include any wetlands covered by MSES mapping as these are considered state interest. The initial driver for mapping in this overlay came from the Green Infrastructure Network strategy, see report here for background information:https://www.moretonbay.qld.gov.au/uploadedFiles/moretonbay/development/planning/Green-Infrastructure-Strategy-2012-2031.pdf===================================Standard Overlay Attribute Fields have been added as part of the Queensland Planning Provisions Guidelines Ver 4: www.dsdip.qld.gov.au/statewide-planning/queensland-planning-provisions.htmlThese include:LGA_CODE (based on cadastre supplied by DNRM)5010CAT_DESC (describe a category for the overlay, existing or unique)Environment CategoryOVL_CAT (specify a three letter code for the overlay category, existing or unique)ENVOVL2_DESC (describe the new identified theme)MSES - Matters of State Environmental SignificanceMLES - Matters of Local Environmental SignificanceMLES - WetlandsMSES - Koala OffsetsMLES Waterway BufferMLES - Wetland BufferOVL2_CAT (specify a new seven character unique code for the theme)ENV_MSEENV_MLEENV_LWLENV_KOFENV_LWBENV_WLB
